1st week Human life starts at conception baby is the size of this dot. A DNA test can prove that this is a human boy or girl!
At 2 weeks of life the little one is growing very fast. The yolk sack that makes the embryo/baby's blood cells is already forming.
At 3 weeks of life heart begins to beat and can be recorded by ultrasound. Baby is the size of a mustard seed.
At 4 weeks of life the heart has a steady beat and the baby is te size of a tiny jewel. Head spine, and body parts are forming.
At5 Weeks of life baby's head, eyes,mouth,arms, legs, spine are visible. The brain is froming and very large copared tothe rest of the baby.
5 1/2 weeks of life Baby's hands and fingers are visible. The tiny embryo is beginning to look like a human baby, and could fit on your finger nail.
6 weeks of lifeBaby's brain waves can now be recorded, as they begin to control the baby's first movements. Baby is 15-20 mm about 1/2".
7 weeks of life Baby's lips are sensitive to touch. Ears resemble family pattern. Baby's body movements can be recorded on ultrasound.
8weeks of life Every organ is now pesent. This "Little One" is a complete tiny baby, with full skeleton. Liver is making blood cells, kidneys begin to function.
9 weeks of life Baby can now suck his or her thumb. Baby is now a Fetus-which means"young one" in Latin, because the tiny bones are beginning to calcify.
10 weeks of life Baby's body is sensitive to touch. He or she can squint swallow and frown. Baby measures 55-60 mm from head to rump.
11 weeks of life Baby can now smile and can urinate. Baby is one and a half times the length of your thumb. By this week the eye lids fuse shut and like a tiny kitten will reopen at around 22-24weeks.
12 weeks of life Baby can make a fist, turn his or her head, open their mouth move thumbs, and is already practicing the movements for breathing. The current age of viability is 24 weeks gesation.
13 weeks of life Baby's facial expressions already resemble their parents. Vocal chords are formed but he baby cannot cry without air in their lungs. Fine hair starts to form. Baby measures the length of your palm.
